M5 v peterborough 8
The development side had to wait for the graveyard shift to close their season. Peterborough started strong, occasionally ignoring the obvious age gap, and following a week off, and some new additions to the ranks, it wasn't surprising that there was a required period settling to the task. James Risebrow starred in goal with numerous reaction saves.
Stew Dacre was a settling presence for Henry Stainsby, and Thomas Duff to show their improving defensive skills, Hotch looked to keep things simple under pressure in midfield before later taking his skills into attacking positions.
In midfield Johnny Belcher was again on the ball showing his skill and linking with Tyler Arstrong on the right. On the left Alfie Tarran worked his way into the game
Dave Sarsby took up various positions looking to help the team. James & Edward added some 1st team quality.
It was a shame to be 2.0 at half time and didn't reflect the endeavour of these juniors.
In the 2nd half Edward found his touch, Eoghan (on debut) showed strong tackling and incredible pace l, Alfie Martin likewise joined in adding huge pressure to the city defence and eventually Tyler broke to the baseline, found Watkins and the deserved goal gave hope. Ben Staff (2.0 after a half time word) battled and forced the teams progress as they camped in the home teams half, unfortunately Peterboroughs 3rd goal was a target to far. A couple of absentees this week but an amazing progression through this final match and for the wider squad a pleasure to watch the successes each of them has enjoyed.
