It was muggy conditions for the second game of the season for the BDHC ladies 1's. With a bare minimum 11 the ladies were apprehensive how the game would go against the Cambridge university 3's with a squad of 15.
The first half saw both sides have some good hockey. However, the dragons worked well as a team and managed to generate multiple opportunities on goal. A ball in across goal from Lucy Norman found Kiera Maxey who inched the dragons ahead 1-0. The Cambridge university 3's had some great opportunities towards the very end of the first half, however the dragons defence held solid and great saves from Rose kept the 1-0 advantage at half time.
Heading into the second half the dragons were eager for another goal. Kiera Maxey sized an excellent opportunity following a solid press from the dragons pressuring the opposition as she stormed into a 1 on 1 with the goalie putting the dragons 2-0 up. The remainder of the second half the dragons really made the game their own with some excellent passing around the back and some lovely team play working the ball up the pitch. An excellent second win for the ladies 1's.
