Bourne Deeping ladies 1’s travelled to Kings Lynn to take Pelicans on In the pouring rain, within the first 10 minutes pelicans put away a goal from the first short corner rewarded. Deeping did not let this get there heads down and shortly afterwards secured there first goal with a deflection from Helena Darragh. Some great runs up the pitch from the midfielders allowed Keira Maxey, who’s recently stepped up to the first team to slot another goal making 2-1 after the first half.
Some good passages of play from the dragons back line meant the play was predominantly up the attacking end, and a shot on goal from Sophie Brittain was deflected of a pelicans player making it to 3-1.
Norah Brill made a excellent finish on a ball that was crossed in the D resulting in a goal and finalising the game at 4-1. A very promising start for the dragons, with positive feedback from the pelicans umpire and being 1 of the 2 teams in the league who has won both matches. They take on St ives 1sts next Saturday at home.
