Bourne Deepings first match of the season got off to a good start with the team working well together and putting into practice everything from pre-season training. A shot on goal from Becky Warters resulted in a goal as it deflected off of a Long Sutton defender to put Bourne at 1-0.
The dragons worked well as a unit moving up and down the pitch supporting each other enabling Sophie Brittain to score a great goal in the first half.
The second half saw multiple chances for both teams with Long Sutton taking hit outs quickly and making quick breaks but no more goals resulted in the final score of 2-0.
