A hard fought match against the top of the league for Bourne Deeping Ladies’ 1s which unfortunately didn’t end in the home side’s favour. Evenly matched through the first 20 minutes, both teams fought hard for possession with strong attacking displays shown by both sides. A goal after 15 minutes for Cambridge City was counterbalanced through well rehearsed attacking play by Camilla down the wing, which was neatly slotted home by Becky.
Going into the second half with a level score sheet, City managed to take the lead on the 45 minute mark, and despite all of Bourne Deepings greatest attempts, having only 11 in the squad meant tired legs were unable to defend against the top of the league, resulting in two late goals for City.
