Cambs City Vs BDHC 1 - 0-1
BDHC started out strong with a quick attack into the Cambridge City half by moving the ball around the Cambs team. Cambs City defence held out despite strong pressure from BDHC and short corner attempts, with no goals conceded early on. Some well worked breaks down the wing from the Cambs City side saw a few threats made to BDHC including a couple of shorts which again were well defended without the ball hitting the backboard. Play became fairly evenly matched for the duration of the first half.
BDHC started the second half with more pressure and continued to generally have more possession in the game, with some brilliant passing from Alice Brookes and Kerry Fisher through the midfield and wings with Becky Allum, Emily Murray and Sophie Brittain, which led to a much-needed goal achieved from a hit into the D, which found Jenn Biggs stick and then the roof of the net bringing the score to 1-0 along with a more upbeat BDHC team. Cambs City refused to let their heads go down and crept through BDHC a handful of times enough for the Dragons to remember not get complacent. The Dragons won a couple more shorts but were unable to widen their lead, however with BDHCs continued pressure, accurate passing and working the ball well between them, Cambs City were unable to break through to equal the scoreline. Final score BDHC 1, Cambridge City 0.
