BDHC L1's played Cambs South at home on Saturday 3rd December, unfortunately having a 6-0 defeat. With just 1 training session and match remaining this side of Christmas plans are to train hard as a side and come out strong for next weekend’s match. The game was particularly messy, with both sides playing untidy hockey. There were plentiful positives to take from the match, including excellent transfers, passing of the ball as opposed to taking it up the pitch single handedly and being there for your team mates calling out when in space. Unfortunately we were just unable to have much attacking play and if so it was then quickly back with our midfield and defence, they worked well up the pitch as a unit and our ball pace and reaction to turnover could have been slightly quicker.
It was lovely to have Cam Baird back playing for the side and new players to the team are slotting in well such as Flo Dexter. Thank you to men’s 1's Edwyn Sarsby and Graham Brewer who kindly managed the subs and provided words of encouragement on the sideline and of course to our players parents who every weekend form a sea of supporters and are an integral part of the squad. Onwards and upwards, heads up Dragons, remain positive and strong and I am looking forward to captaining a second side of the season.
