They kicked off the game with some cheeky mind games, and after a socky start (quite literally), we had no time to warm up because we had to change our candy cane socks. The Match finally Started, with Keira Maxey taking first Pushback to Sue Oakley: the game was in full flow despite. Strong efforts by Nadine Curtis, Vicky Mumby and Captain Caroline Geddes ,Cambridge Nomads Pushed hard with the first shot deflected Eliana Russo - Nomads came back determined and scored. The Score was 1-0 to Cambridge Nomads. Within 22 minutes in a short corner was won defiantly by Dragons, Libby Moore managed to slip a goal in on the rebound after a shot from Norah Brill. Once play restarted the Midfielders consisting of Libby Moore, Norah Brill, and Flo Dexter passed the ball up the triangles back to the attacking the ball on pitch back to the attacking D. Carol received the ball and headed into the D, where she sent it in. Keira Maxey, who was in a wonderful position by the post, spectacularly tapped it past the goalkeeper and scored.
After half time, with motivation high as ever, the Dragons set off once again determined to score a winning goal with the score currently being 2-2. The midfielders were efficiently passing the ball, with some strong runs up the left and right channels, but unfortunately not being able to convert them into goals. Tensions were set high in the last 5 minutes of the game, and were the Dragons were rewarded with numerous short corners, but sadly, we couldn't get passed the Nomad's tough defense. With a bit of confusion between the umpires at the end of the game, the successfully finished the game with a score of 2-2, thanks to our determined defenders and resilient attackers. Player of the match goes to Nadine Curtis, for her constant drive to ensure the ball didn’t go into our defending D. Well played Dragons!
