Under a gloomy sky, the first half proceeded and both sides seemed evenly matched with a great deal of running from D to D. The Dragons were awarded a few short corners, but couldn’t convert them into goals. St Ives had a good attempt on goal, but thanks to an excellent save by Eliana, the score remained 0-0 at half time.
The second half saw more end to end play, again very evenly matched, with short corners for both sides. BDHC had a few exciting breakaways; but, again, goals remained elusive. Cruelly, in the last couple of minutes of the match, St Ives put the Dragons under increasing pressure and scored, to the frustration of the team who had worked so hard throughout.
